The smell of cigarette smoke, and that of love, linger in the memories of a lesbian couple, who spend their last day together.

Born in Hangzhou, China, ZHENG LU Xinyuan is a writer and director. She earned her BA from the Communication University of China in 2013 and MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California in 2017. Her short films have been to Tribeca Film Festival, China’s FIRST International Film Festival Xining, Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, China Independent Film Festival and Shanghai Queer Film Festival. She has also held photography exhibitions and co-written two books. Currently she is working on her debut feature The Cloud in Her Room.
